Who's ready to play in the CrossFit Open?!
Competition season is ramping up. Most people enjoy CrossFit for the health and fitness aspect of the program. I know I certainly do!
But some of us use CrossFit to become more competitive in different sports and fitness events.
This next month, we have many people competing in competitions of various types, such as:
- Olympic Weightlifting
- Kettlebell Sport
- CrossFit Games
- Highland Games
Many others of us also compete in team leagues (soccer, softball, etc), some train and are looking to compete in Jiu Jitsu and other MMA events, and of course the marathon and many different types of foot race/ obstacle courses.
Please keep us informed of your various sporting events, so we can assist you in smartly tapering down your CrossFit volume, so you can compete injury free and not over-trained! But also, let us know so we can support you, either at the events of by following your progress on line!
Some upcoming events include our members are competing in are:
- Saturday, February 7th - West Coast Classic- Kettlebell Championships - Richmond, CA
Melissa and Doug will be competing in this Kettlebell Competition. Come on out and cheer them on!
- Sunday, February 8th - The Teen Gauntlet in Oroville, CA
Steven Page will be competing in the JV division. He's been working hard on his weightlifting movements! Make sure he always has that hook grip in if you see him at the gym!
- Saturday, February 14th - Queen Mary Highland Games - Long Beach, CA
Micah is going to try to make it down, job permitting, to compete in his first games of the season. If he makes it down there, good luck! If not, we are jumping into our throwing season for several Games beginning in April!
- Thursday, February 26th - CrossFit Games Open Competition begins - worldwide/ online
A 5 week competition that ANYONE can do. Hopefully, everyone will join us on Team CF Vacaville North!
- Saturday, February 28th - California Open Kettlebell Sport Championship - Costa Mesa, CA
Doug will be travelling down south for his 2nd Kettlebell Competition of the month!
