Friday 2.14.14

From VVFD:  12/28/13 at approx 2130 Josh (seen here curling 140#) was eating at Panda Express before reporting for duty at Travis AFB.  He ordered his food and picked a seat near the family that had ordered just before him. 5-10 minutes later, he noticed the mother stand up from her chair while the oldest daughter was fanning her. The mother was gasping for air while her youngest was patting her back. Josh said all this was happening in his peripheral so he looked up just as the lady was walking towards the door and trying to remove her jacket. He made eye contact with her just before she reached the door and saw the distress in her eyes.  Remembering his training from his CPR/ AED class he jumped into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver her. He was able to dislodge the food and the sound of her taking a deep breath he stopped. If she had made it out the door without Josh noticing her chocking things may have turned out a lot different.
Nice Job Josh!
