Coming Soon...
As you all know at The Compound we are working at filling our space, increasing our equipment, and enhancing our ability to help achieve your fitness goals. To that end, we wanted to remind you of some upcoming events or plans to keep everyone in the loop.
- September 6th: Labor Day. The gym will be closed, but for those who are interested there will be an out-of-the-box trip to Angel Island. We will meet at The Compound at 8:30 and carpool over to Tiburon. We will catch the ferry at 10:00, spend the day there, then take the ferry back at 3:00. The cost for the ferry is $13.50 for adults, $11.50 for kids 6-12, $3.50 kids 3-6, kids under 3 free. There is an art and wine festival in Tiburon also for anyone that wants to hang out in Tiburon. Contact Nicole for more info.
- September 14th The Compound coed indoor soccer team kicks off its season. We'll post the schedule at the gym so you can come out and give us some support. We're gonna need it!
- September 25th: Lagoon Valley Trail Run. A 5k/10k run benefiting the Oakland Children's Hospital. It'll be a great run for an even better cause.
- September 25th: Fight Gone Bad 5. FGB 5 is an annual fund raising event, which will benefit three charities this year: LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project and the CrossFit Foundation. CrossFit East Sac is hosting this event.
- October 9th or 10th: Tough Mudder. A 7-12 mile run through various obstacles designed by British Special Forces.
- October 30th: Warrior Dash. A 3.5 mile race that includes 12 crazy obstacles.
As you can see, there are lots of opportunities to get out and compete or just have fun by challenging your new-found or improved fitness, benefit a good cause, and have fun. So get a group together and hit up one of these events! bc
- Our pull up structure is coming. The above picture is basically what it will look like. It will accommodate 12 people doing pull ups at once, and the bar heights will vary between 7 and 8 feet.
- With the expansion and new equipment comes higher costs. We will be raising membership fees soon, but don't worry. If you're already a member your price is set! If you know someone on the fence about joining, they don't have long. Get them in here at the lower price, and get yourself a month free! (Free month incentives are given when you refer someone who joins on a monthly membership. Not on a punch pass.) Also, law enforcement, military, and fire discounts will now be applied to memberships only (not to punch passes, drop in rates, or merchandise).

I would just like to say that the pull up structure looks hecka cool. I am excited about having more room to do pull ups.
ReplyDeleteMe to Danyel, not to mention how much better we'll all get on our pull ups with this bad a$$ contraption. Its pretty to cool to see the compound growing, even in the short time I've been a member.
